::brave scouts awarded::

During the last year or so Second Rhiwbina Scout troop have taken on a new challenge. Three of the boys from the existing Scout troop are aiming to start a new Venture Unit. The Venture Unit will be called Green Crag VSU. The aim of the boys will be to gain certain awards such as Queen Scout, Silver and Gold Duke of Edimburgh Awards while having a thrilling time. The name of the Unit is called what it is called, because the three members, David Walsh, Adam Fox and Huw Tyler, along with Daniel McGloghlin and Iain Newbury were involved in an incedent in the area of Buttermere, Cumberland last summer. Since the four boys have been awarded Scouting's third highest award for gallantry, THE GILT CROSS. See venture website.
